Feelings & Emotions Related to WLS
Pre-Surgery: Scared. Unhappy. Unliked. Shameful. Discontent. Cumbersome.
Post-Surgery – First 3-6 Months: Excited. Hungry/but not.
Post-Surgery – 6-12 months: Wanting more. Hoping this will stay forever. Excitement. Compliments Abound, so spirits are up.
Post-Surgery – 1-4 yrs: Happy to have lost the weight. Shameful to have ever been so big. Disliking that my stomach is still sensitive.
Post-Surgery – 5-10 yrs: Stomach still dictates what I eat. I’m hungry all the time. Happy to be “average”. Sad because no one gives a rats ass that I’ve come so far, except immediate family.
I dunno what 10 yrs+ out is… but i’m sure when i’m that far out, i’ll write about it. 😉
