recovery time, after surgery
September 7, 2010 siotha
Ok. So I’ve had 3 surgeries. 1) a Gastric Bypass – in 2002 2) a small thing of fat or something removed that got lodged in my shoulderblad and two weeks ago – 3) my gallbladder. Who needs the little buggers anyway? Well. I’m inclined to think I did. As of all the great things I’ve done, surgically – when I was young, recover was instant. Geez I was back to work within 2 weeks after my gastric bypass… I went to work the next day after the little fat thing… yeah. hault the presses… my luck is running out. my age is catching up, i’m barely 30 and walking is exhausting after surgery. Maybe it’s the texas heat… maybe it’s the memory of the I went back to school after having kid #1 in 2 weeks, but after #2, well… I’m still looking for work now… seriously it did take me about a month or four to get better after kid number two… after this little hunk of meat was removed, i did still try to do things i wasn’t supposed to… it was quite fun going around walmart in the electric cart…. however, it’s been 2 weeks… almost 3… and geez…. where’s my spirit? at least I’m starting to get up again in the mornings. That’s a plus. It could take me a total of 6 weeks to get back to normal. What no one explained – was what is normal. Great. and I thought the bowel movements after a gastric bypass were well, you know…. funny…. this my friends… takes the cake. So for all of you considering a gastric bypass… read up on the bowel habits after having your gall bladder removed… ugh. not a pretty sight. I am however considering stoping the pro-biotics. there’s really no point if everything slides right through you. Maybe I’ll even loose a few pounds and get back to pre-baby weight. Here’s Hoping!!!!
